Board certification - chiropractic orthopedicSpecialty board certification is recognized by patients, physicians, providers, quality assurance organizations, insurance providers, state and federal court systems, credentialing organizations and the federal government (DOD, VA and PHS). Your commitment to specialty certification enhances professional recognition. Board certification in the chiropractic orthopedic specialty offers opportunities to improve your practice skills. Orthopedic graduate level studies are based on the most current research to improve chiropractic physician competence, patient safety and practice management outcomes ensuring that the Diplomate is well-prepared for patient expectations, higher accountability and encounters of daily practice.

The intent of the certification process as defined by the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists (ACO) is to provide assurance to the public that a certified orthopedic specialist has successfully completed an accredited training program and an evaluation, including an examination process, designed to assess the knowledge, experience, and skills of the Diplomate.

Standards of board certification are distinct from those of state licensure for the general practice clinicians. Possession of an Academy Board certification is more than a title, more than a degree. It is a commitment to continuous improvement leading to opportunities for providing better patient care.

The candidate who successfully completes the Academy orthopedic specialty certification examination will receive the designation Diplomate of the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists (DACO).
